Representation
Here I have composed a "don't care" kind of gesture. It looks a lot like Dizzee Rascal's posture. For example same Nike air max and similar hats. The angle I have taken my picture is a bit higher up than Dizzee Rascal's, also its in an outside environment with only ambient light from the sun. Dizzee Rascal's was probably most likely to of been taken in a studio with artificial lighting. I have taken it in a grungey, grimey, urban setting for a UK Grime "feel". I think I've stereotyped the urban grungey setting for grime. In real life grime the artists are quite wealthy but still they choose to look rough and common. I'm guessing they do this to gain respect and to underline the harsh reality of life. I've represented to any gender, any race and any class as long as they enjoy grime although it is more for males than females. I think my magazine has a pro-consumerist flavour because my images are very clearly showing my trainers which people may find cool or trendy so it's also advertising in the photoshoots as well as in the paid-for advertising themselves. The show of brands is quite important to the artist an the magazine it is in because if that make is shown purposely in a magazine it is more than likely they've paid the magazine to have a spot to advertise. It is also a powerful way to get fans to want to buy products. Fans are more likely to buy products they see their role models wearing.
